NCIS Agent Jack Patterson is shot just behind the ear on his way to a dinner with Abby, but still managed to send her a painting by Arizona artist Dina Risi. He just arrived from Panama aboard the Washington, where he investigated the cocaine-smuggling seaman, Richard Zell. Jack clasped the cellphone number of Homeland Security agent Bartholomew Lemming, with whom he collaborated on several cases. The fatal bullet corresponds with the murder on an Arizona businessman, probably paid by the wife. HQ discovers the intrinsic message of the painting and gets an 'impossible' visitor. Meanwhile DiNozzo hopes for a huge UK inheritance.
