Murphy Mason is an irreverent, attractive, but cynical blind woman living in downtown Chicago who drifts through life in a drunken haze of self-hate due to loosing her eyesight at a young age. She is friends with Jess, her tolerant roommate, and Tyson, a teenage drug-dealer who saved her from a violent mugging.
